We organized and conducted a demonstration experiment (NEDO DRESS Project Regional Demonstration) in Goto City, Nagasaki Prefecture, to demonstrate the use of a drone operation management system (developed by NEDO) to coordinate the airspace in which drones are flown. Together with the member companies of the Goto Consortium, we conducted flights for four use cases (logistics, agricultural land planting confirmation, marine search, and marine litter survey) to demonstrate the effectiveness of unmanned drone operations in advance of the ban on Level 4 flights, where multiple use cases are expected to fly in close airspace. Air traffic control of the aircraft and operational coordination between use cases were conducted.
