CEO Message Thank you for visiting the website of Soraya Co., Ltd. I'm Hamamoto, the representative director. Our company is based in Fukue Island, which is located in the south of the Goto Islands in Nagasaki Prefecture, and is a relatively large island where about 30,000 people live. Fukue Island is a beautiful island with a good balance of work and peaceful life, with commercial facilities where most things are available in the city, and the beautiful sea can be reached in about 5 minutes by car. My grandparents are from Goto, and I myself stepped on the land of Goto for the first time at the age of 35, and after that I worked as a city hall employee from April 2018 to March 2021 as a Goto city regional revitalization cooperation team. During this period, with the support of various people, we have created and promoted a business to utilize the new technology of drone for the regional issues of Goto. Although we have achieved some results during our three-year term, we have reached the end of our term in the middle of the road, so we are independent and continue to promote our business in the drone industry. As an aside, the experience I gained while working as an employee of Goto City was enormous. It was valuable to know how the local government is turning around, and I also learned that there are excellent and aspiring people in the local government who are struggling. Also, it was the most difficult experience for me to be able to see myself as a more selfish thing about the city. If possible, if everyone gains experience in the local government, the city in which they live will look different. Returning to drones, when I was a staff member, I was engaged in the business of utilizing drones to solve regional issues. Among them are those aiming to improve work efficiency in Goshima City, where the population is declining, and those that publicize the problem of marine debris, which is not well known and has little involvement of young people, the sea and complicated things. While being separated by the coastline and becoming difficult to move due to the aging population, drone logistics that can deliver luggage unmanned between islands and within the island, and support for the introduction of telemedicine to islands where doctors are not stationed. I think that my mission is to make people's lives sustainable by utilizing new technologies such as drones in such fields that are not really in trouble now, but may collapse in the near future. We are here. Thankfully, the number of members of our company is increasing now, and we will continue to work together to create a better future. I am very much looking forward to new relationships, and I am also very much looking forward to continuing to work with the people who have taken care of me so far. Let's all look forward and create a better society. Representative Director Sho Hamamoto Representative Director of Soraya Co., Ltd. Born in Nagasaki City in January 1982, raised in Ibaraki Prefecture and Texas, USA. Born in Waseda University Faculty of Science and Engineering. Goto City Drone Logistics Demonstration Year Feb. 9th–Mar. 8th, 2022 Location Location Goto, Nagasaki Toward the social implementation of drone delivery service in Goto City, Nagasaki Prefecture, Soraya, together with ANA Holdings Inc., conducted a demonstration of drone delivery of food and daily necessities from Fukue Island to smaller islands, Kabashima and Hisakajima. In this initiative, Soraya operators were trained by ANA Holdings, Inc., and together conducted logistics drone operations for the implementation of island-to-island, or “over the sea”, logistics services. For a period of one month starting from Wednesday, February 9, 2022, food, daily necessities and medical supplies ordered by islanders on secondary islands were delivered by a multi copter from Fukue Island, where Daikyo Value Fukue Store (grocey store) , a cooperating company in this demonstration, and pharmacies are located, to Kabashima and Hisakajima, where the order recipients live. The items were delivered near their homes, even on the same day they have been ordered, which was unusual for the lives on these remote islands. To make the drone delivery service into practical use, it is essential to have a system that can be operated by local operators, which at the moment is not the case for most of the initiatives done today. To be the local operators of the drone delivery we were able to establish a system that will enable us to provide this service on a permanent basis.
